Did she really laugh that loud? Rachel felt slightly embarrassed, Quinn wasn’t supposed to hear that! She was almost preparing herself to some flour over Quinn’s hair and she was asking her what was funny? Well, her plan was ruined now, and she would have huffed if it wouldn’t be the cause of even more questions. So instead, Rachel kept her eyes trained on her bowl and simply shrugged her shoulder. She knew she was being childish (right, because starting a ‘flour war’ wasn’t childish either) and Quinn was probably confused, but she doesn’t like when things don’t go her way. And even if it was just a silly thing as a random idea in her head, it was ruined in a matter of seconds. But of course, as soon as that was out of the question, she started to come up with another idea.
She looked up at Quinn and bit her lip, trying to prevent that same mischievous smile form on her face and then her eyes dropped to the table. “Are you done with that? You need to add two egg yolks. But be careful!” she warned, resting her bowl on the table and taking a seat to simply observe the blonde as she kept plotting in her head. She rested her head on her hand and got lost in her own thoughts for a second. Maybe one they were done with that, once the cookies were actually in the over she could just simply grab the flour sack and emptied it over Quinn. Another chuckle. God, she was being ridiculous and feeling too giddy, what was wrong with her? Shaking those thoughts off, she looked up again at Quinn and get up, grabbing her bowl and walking towards the blonde. She didn’t say a word and added the flour mixture and processed it until the dough was done and sent a bright smile the other girl’s way. Rachel grabbed yet another bowl, a bigger one, and transferred everything there, mixing the chopped chocolate with her hands. Looking back up at the blonde, she just simply nodded. “And now we have to actually make them. Would you like your cookies to be star shaped?”
Quinn saw the other girl simply shrug her shoulders at her question and she wondered not for the first time what she was thinking. Never being one to push she just let it go, but she was still entirely curious. The blonde nodded as Rachel asked if she was done mixing. She was a little nervous as she saw Rachel take a seat and watched her add in the egg yolks. Wasn’t Rachel the expert here? Quinn considered it a small victory if she used the oven without the smoke alarm going off. Following Rachel’s directions she very carefully added the yolks into the mixture. She looked over at Rachel who seemed to be lost in her own little world and a soft smile spread over Quinn’s features. She was thankful that even if they didn’t know each other all that well at this point they could just work around each other in silence. That was something Quinn admired in a friendship. Sometimes she didn’t want to be alone but didn’t feel the need for insistent conversation, so a lot of the time she would sit and write while Kurt worked on his designs or she would read while Santana watched tv. Their company being enough for her. She wondered if her and Rachel could ever have a friendship like that. She hoped that they could but Quinn had to stop herself from getting too ahead of herself. The blonde watched as Rachel expertly added in the rest of the ingredients. Quinn sent the girl opposite her an amused smirk. ”Stars?” She asked with a quirked eyebrow. Really she should have known by now that Rachel wouldn’t settle for just normal shaped cookies. ”Sounds perfect,” she said before dipping her forefinger into the dough and bringing it to her lips with playful smile. She couldn’t resist. Ever since seeing Rachel add the chocolate pieces she had planning her attack.
